I trust everyone has been having an enjoyable holiday. As the New Year fast approaches, I have some news and information about upcoming events.
Ellen, our Newsletter Editor, has reminded us all that if we have anything for the newsletter, be it articles or photos, she needs it by January 29th.
Our upcoming events include the January Field Trip down to the Nick Cave exhibit on the 21st. ERRATUM: The .PDF says Karren needs a response by February 17th. I believe that should be January 17th instead.
We also have the Small Loom Study group coming up. ERRATUM: I had that down for the wrong day for the upcoming month. It's always set for the first Saturday of the month, which will be January 7th, 2012 this time round.
Don't forget to sign up for the Fleece to Cap contest. There are small workshop/classes coming up for people to learn how to do the required segments of the contest.
I've been working out how to set up a Member Gallery. There's still too much work to be done to call it ready but if you have photos you think would be good for that, send them to me.
Also, remember that this website always needs feedback and information. I'll accept guest blogs from those of you who have something they'd like to share with the guild and suggestions on how to make things better.
Thanks to all and I'll see you Next Year!
Diane Remmers will be hosting our next share day in January. If you haven't received her invitation in your email, let me know and I'll get it for you.
Diana reminded me in her comment to the last blog that we need a Nominating Committee to recruit officers for next year. She says "This is my last year and we also need a treasurer. Please consider running for one of these offices. They don't take a lot of time and we can't continue without somone to fill these roles."
We had a great Christmas/End of Year party at Ellen's. Much thanks to our newsletter editor for providing such a wonderful place to meet, greet and (lest we forget) eat. Not sure if she also provided the ham, but it was quite tasty.
Karren was able to give me more info on the upcoming events. We won't be having a January meeting, since that almost always gets snowed out.(Watch it be dry and sunny this time) but that we ARE going to do some things in January. Check our Classes tab for a list of demonstrations for the Fleece to Hat competition (you ARE going to join that, right?) and our Programs tab for more information on the Nick Cave field trip. Karren's the person to go to on that one, so make sure you call her if you're interested in the trip.
I'm told that there are still a few of you not getting updated on these posts. I'd appreciate if if those of you who do get an update were to drop me an email at email@example.com. (If the link over there doesn't work, just copy the email into your email send field.) If you are visiting the site looking for an update and didn't get anything via email, definitely let me know.
Thanks to everyone and have a great Holiday season, whichever holiday or holidays you celebrate.
Don't forget that the December Meeting is next week! We'll be having our Christmas Dinner at Ellen's house.
Ellen and Sandy sent out a newsletter recently, with directions. If you didn't get it, let me know and I'll send you a copy.
