May 8, 2012, 7pm to 9pm: Field Trip to Stewart Heritage Farm

Brenda Hanes will show us her 32 alpacas and talk to us about how and when alpacas came to Ohio and challenges and joys of raising them here. Ohio has one of the largest populations of alpacas in North America. She will then demonstrate skirting a recently shorn fleece. Brenda takes special precautions to make her fleece appealing to hand-spinners. Her talk and demo will be followed by questions and answers, cookies and shopping.
Please arrive at the farm by 7PM. You can drive directly to the farm or carpool from John Bryan Center parking lot, leaving the parking lot at 6:30PM.
